One of the most attractive features of the LPU package is the chat sessions with the band members. Being able to see one of the band members on webcam in real time is pretty damn cool.
The only LPU chat’s that I have logged in for are the most recent chats with Mike and Chester.
While this is a great feature to have, I feel that it isn’t living up to its promise, so to speak. On both of the chat sessions mentioned above, I have experienced crashing, lagging and not being able to log on. Resulting in missing a lot of the session.
I know I am not the only one who experiences this as I see comments on Twitter and Facebook from frustrated LPU members who say the same thing.
Personally I feel that as an oranisation, the LPU have not done the necessary research before including this feature into the LPU package.
Every organisation that has an idea should be carrying out research to find out if they have the right systems and technology that can fully support the idea.
In this case, the idea is not necessarily failing, but it’s not a complete success either; frustrating lots of fans. The TinyChat application/add-on/plug-in for the LPU is clearly not able to support the demand from the LPU members for band chats.
Myself, I feel like we, the fans, are paying for something that’s not fully functional.
I do hope this issue has been highlighted and the LPU are aware of it and are trying to find some kind of fix for the problem. Surely there is a chat application out there that can handle such traffic?
