When did Linkin Park shock you?

#1

My greatest shock was QWERTY back in 2006. LP performed the song as a special treat to Japanese fans at Summer Sonic. It had been a few years since new material from LP was released, and they had only toured a couple of shows that year. Someone had recorded the song live on their mobile phone and posted it online. The hype and talk around the song and recording was crazy. One of the most energetic songs. Won’t ever forget it.

The greatest surprise for me, was ATS. This album just blew me away. I was transported into another world listening to the album for the first time. It quickly became my favourite album of all time.

I apologise for the error in the coding. Not sure why the size went so big. If a forum mod could fix please?

i was shocked at recharged… slowly it fits again

I got shocked in a terrible way in LPU8. That was so stupid but i admit funny. In a good way I was shocked through ATS. I was shocked at the new direction and it grew on me.

I’ve got to agree that the first time I heard QWERTY, I was kicked in my ass. Some really good ‘thrash’ metal as far as I was concerned. LOVED it ! The studio demo version on LPU CD 6.0 is GREAT! I have to admit that Victimized kicked me back to and the combo of the two well lets just say that as a teen of the 80s I was taken back to my head banging days. lol

Honestly, Linkin Park shocks me with every album. It just gets better and better every time and it seems like they are digging even deeper and being even more honest in their lyrics. It blows my mind every time. ATS left me speechless. It was beautiful and it seemed to tell a story. It was a one of a kind album. I’m really proud of them for taking chances and maturing along with their music. Though, I guess I can say A Light That Never Comes surprised me! I never thought they would head towards that direction, but I love it! It has that unique LP flare that leaves me in awe.

I love how fans can really appreciate Linkin Park not just as a band, but as a band full of artists. The appreciation among the fans who support the band in their ever growing sound and taking risks with every album. Linkin Park aren’t a typical rock band, they are chefs in the kitchen, cooking up some fresh tasty snax’s!

I was shocked by ATS because it just sounded so different to the usual LP. But I have to admit I absolutely loved it because I thought it was awesome they had mixed things up!

They shocked me with a light that never comes, because since I was a baby my dad raised me with Linkin Park (they were just launching Hybrid Theory) and a few weeks ago I “turned back into my begginigs” and started to listen Hybrid Theory over and over again; but then one day something stopped me and I thought: “I wonder how are they like now days and in what are they working on” so I searched in youtube “Linkin Park 2013” and when i saw them it was totally shocking like have been seeing them so, so, so… HARD ROCK and then i see this kinda dubstep or whatever, It was just like OH MY GOD! I have to say that I’m getting used to it or at least trying, but I just love LP and I like that they evolve in some ways and recreate their own style again and again.
LOVE LINKIN PARK

You’re right about them not being a typical rock band! They are very unique in sound, as a band, and as individuals. I can’t wait to be shocked by their next album!

The biggest shock must be when Chester in a Norwegian interview on a program called Lydverket, said that bands that don’t treat their fans right should be taken outside and shot in their neck :stuck_out_tongue:

no one on LPU believed me :stuck_out_tongue: this was back in 2001 i think. i still have a VHS copy of it that the channel that aired it sent me just because i asked

When i listened to their demos and they were a billion times better then theyre new stuff.

#13

They honestly can’t shock me anymore.lol I’m always expecting something new and different.

#14

i was shocked by robot boy…
a very extraordinary linkin park song that basically doesnt really fit their ‘‘usual’’ style, right
but omg it is just wonderful, amazing
it shocked me in a good way
the lyrics hit the blood in my veins, im telling ya

They never can shock me.

#16

They shocked me each time the I watch their old old-school concerts))[idea]

probably when they released MTM, i was 14 at that time and i was really expecting their new album so i was kind of confused, i didn’t have the maturity to understand their new direction at that time.
the demos didn’t surprise me much though.
i was very surprised by ATS too but in a very good way, the whole concept of nuclear warfare was really etched and this is why it’s surely one of my favourite albums. the whole story behind jornada del muerto with japanese lyrics is just mindfuck.

haven’t you been shocked when you learnt how they created the somewhere i belong intro ? when i watched mike explaining that in making of meteora i was totally speechless like “WTF how did they think about that ???”.

I adore the intro to Somwhere I Belong)) It’s so quiet… Like waves in the sea) Speaking figuratively

yeah totally, i like this quiet sweeping sound.
btw when i said that the demos tracks didn’t surprise me i meant that they didn’t shock me, i really enjoy them a real lot. i’m sad of the quite poor quality sounds though, how great they could be in HD heh.
